Ebeling Family Celebrates Wins at TerraNova Dressage II CDI3*/CDI-W

MYAKKA CITY, Fla. – Oct. 21, 2023 – Saturday was Ebeling Grand Prix Day at TerraNova Equestrian Center for father and son Jan and Ben Ebeling when they captured blue-ribbon wins at the TerraNova Dressage II CDI3*/CDI-W. Jan took the CDI3* Grand Prix Special with 68.489% aboard Ann Romney’s Jubi’s Tenacity, a 2010 Danish Warmblood gelding (Tzailomade Temptation-Jubi’s Cadeau, Blue Hors Don Schufro). Ben followed in his father’s footsteps to win the FEI World Cup Grand Prix Freestyle with a 75.330% riding Indeed (Hofrat-Gørklintgårds Indeera, De Niro 6), a 2008 Danish Warmblood mare owned by Vantage Equestrian Group II.
The elder Ebeling went off course, but he quickly got back to task and clinched the win. “I got a little bit lucky today,” he said of the momentary lapse. “It's just a moment of not focusing, but the horse was on.” He tries to refrain from entering the same classes as his son and laughs that he doesn’t want to lose to Ben.

This was the Ebelings second time to show at TerraNova and Jan said everything is top-notch. “We love being here because it's a very, very nice atmosphere,” he said and listed the welcoming staff, oversized, light and airy stalls and excellent footing as top amenities. “We love it here. We'll definitely be back.”
Ben’s freestyle, created by Karen Robinson, was inspired by Indeed. “She is definitely a strong diva mare,” he said. “So, of course it has Beyoncé, Gwen Stefani, all strong female roles, Rihanna’s in it. I just can't say enough about my horse. She just totally comes alive in the freestyle. It's unlike anything I've ever felt. She's so fun.”
Family Fun
In keeping with the familial fun, TerraNova celebrated Halloween trick or treat at their Tiny Town with the aptly named mini horse Fabio sporting a Halloween costume. Young showgoers coaxed him over jumps between snatches of grass. Tiny Town features pint-sized buildings including stables, a veterinarian office, an ice-cream truck and a café outfitted with child-sized accoutrement for each Tiny Town business.
Sunday Events At TerraNova
The CDI2* FEI Intermediate II begins at 8 a.m. and when the CDI action concludes, the national show begins at 9 a.m. Tiny Town will be open for kids, and the dog park with agility obstacles is available for our canine friends. Food trucks, boutique shopping and acres of wide-open spaces on TerraNova’s picturesque grounds are all available for your family’s fun.
